An essay is presented on teaching criminal law in first year law students. It offers argument on the importance of four credits to be awarded to students in the completion of the course because of the nature of criminal law as evolving and socially relevant. The author relates his experience of teaching the course for first year students of University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.
