A Language Reporter at Large.
- Authors
Lederer, Richard
- Abstract
The article discusses the vagaries in language that American people adapt over a period of time. These include the "doublespeak" which is considered a grossly euphemistic language in the public sector that is dishonest, misleading and inhumane. It states that even politicians in the U.S. use doublespeak to get more votes during an election. Another form of vagary indicated is the omission of words and apostrophes in a sentence which caused the inappropriateness of spelling and grammar.
