Welfare advisory council sets out standards for dog breeders.
- Abstract
The article reports on the Standard for Breeders, which lists the criteria that should be met to ensure the welfare of dogs used for breeding set out by the Advisory Council on the Welfare Issues of Dog Breeding. It says that the sale of the puppies and the management of any staff at a breeding establishment are also covered in the recommendation. According to president Carl Padgett, the standard is a step forward for the improvement of the environment in which the dogs are being bred.
