- Title
Scotland to establish its own food standards body.
- Abstract
The article reports on the decision of the government in Scotland to create a new food safety agency in 2012. It says that the move supports the recommendation of former chief veterinary officer Jim Scudamore to establish a stand-alone public body to deal with food standards and other related issues. According to Health Minister Michael Matheson, the initiative will improve the function of the Food and Standards Agency (FSA).
