- Abstract
The article describes the external fixation of an open infected sympaphyseal fracture of the mandible in a 58-month-old Holstein dairy cow in Switzerland. It notes the impact of the injury on the cow's daily milk yield. Particular focus is given to the results of the cow's clinical examination. Sympaphyseal fracture was confirmed via radiography. A cerclage wire was used for the external fixation of the fracture. The cow also received ketoprofen and propylene glycol postoperatively.
