- Abstract
The article offers poetry criticism of the poem "On the New Forcers of Conscience" by John Milton. It discusses whether author John Milton held Erastian views on church-state relations during the mid-1640s. The relation of Presbyterianism to the Westminster Assembly and the English Parliament during the 1640s is addressed. The role of religious liberty in Milton's books "The Reason of Church-Government" and "Of Civil Power in Ecclesiastical Causes" is addressed.
