The article focuses on the 61-years of John "Jack" Sherman of Robinson Aerial Surveys Inc. (RAS) who worked with aerial photogrammetry. Topics discussed include the establishment of the company by civil engineer C. S. Robinson in Ithaca, New York, the use of aerial photography for engineering design, survey, and general mapping projects, and he uses the Low Altitude Mapping Photography (LAMP), a helicopter based camera system to improve the photogrammetric process.
