- Abstract
The article presents the authors' response to the invited commentary of J. Merlo to the authors' paper tilted "Multilevel Analysis of Individual Heterogeneity - A Fundamental Critique of the Current Probabilistic Risk Factor Epidemiology," published in a previous issue of the journal. Topics discussed include accepted use of multilevel models. Also mentioned is the paper demonstrating the utility and adaptability of multilevel models for epidemiology.
