- Abstract
The article relates the journey of University of Manitoba students to Deydinler, Turkey to build a teahouse and garden with the village community. The project was part of a Faculty of Architecture course, Service Learning in the Global Community, which is intended to promote intercultural competencies. It promoted the developed of effective, respectful and appropriate design strategies since it required high levels of interaction. According to landscape architecture student Leanne Muir, the site was large, much larger than they expected.
