- Abstract
Examines the impact of autoantigen-activated myelin basic protein (MBP) specific T cells on the functional expression of glutamate transporter GLAST that belongs to the predominant astrocytic transport proteins to clear extracellular glutamate. Impact of the interaction with activated MBP specific T cells on glutamate transport capacity in astrocytes; Suppression of the expression of GLAST in astrocytes by secretion of tumor necrosis factor-α; Astroglial expression of GLAST in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
