- Abstract
Explores how caveolin-1 accesses lipid droplets from the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) by localizing caveolin-1 in ER membranes and in lipid droplets of cultured smooth muscle cells. Application of freeze-fracture immunocytochemistry; Insertion of caveolin-1 molecules into the cytoplasmic leaflets of ER membranes; Translocation of caveolin-1 molecules out of the endoplasmic leaflet.
