- Authors
McKelvey, Hannah A.
- Abstract
Lead, manage, influence, supervise; what does it mean to be a leader and how are librarians learning this during library school? Does what is being taught in MLIS programs pair well with what happens during leadership institutes? Are there ways in which library schools and leadership institutes can form partnerships to strengthen their impacts? What commonalities do MLIS programs have with leadership institutes? The following interview aims to only scratch the surface of this topic by exploring trends, thoughts, and ideas of the selected library school faculty members: Dr. Margaret Mackey, University of Alberta School of Library & Information Studies (SLIS), Dr. Anthony Bernier, San Jose State University School of Information, and Dr. Linda Smith, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Graduate School of Library & Information Sciences (GSLIS).
