- Abstract
This article, titled "Efficacy of plant products in controlling disease vector mosquitoes, a review," explores the use of plant-based products as an alternative to chemical insecticides for controlling disease-carrying mosquitoes. The authors, V. E. Hillary, S. A. Ceasar, and S. Ignacimuthu, review the scientific literature on plant-based products used to control Aedes, Anopheles, and Culex mosquitoes. They find that these natural compounds show promise as eco-friendly insecticides. However, questions remain about their effectiveness in field conditions, the potential development of resistance by mosquitoes, and their impact on humans and other organisms.
