- Abstract
The article features Marco H. Hellman in Los Angeles, California. The Hellman family is a Southern California Jewish family who are said to have accumulated substantial wealth in the first generation. They are also considered as the most prominent in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Herman W. Hellman, Marco's father, arrived in Los Angeles in 1859. Upon his death in 1906, Marco continued his work in the field of banking. Marco became the president of the Hellman Banks. He was described as generous in Jewish and general philanthropy. Photographs of Marco and his family are also presented.
