- Abstract
In this study, the current situation regarding the use of primary schoolyards and the opinions of teachers' ideal schoolyards were examined. The sample of the study consisted of 352 primary school teachers working in Ankara province Çankaya district primary schools. Quantitative research method and survey model were used in the research. As a data collection tool, the form developed by the researchers "Opinions of Primary School Teachers on the Use of School Gardens" form was used. It was determined that artificial elements such as "concrete wall and iron fence" are the most common elements of enclosure in schoolyards. Among the containment elements, "constraint with trees and bushes" was preferred. It was concluded that hard floors were preferred by the relevant authorities for the schoolyard floors. It was concluded that the current conditions of the schoolyards are suitable for different age groups, that they are suitable for the use of disabled individuals and that there are reserved areas in the gardens. Arrangements are usually made for disabled individuals by simply ramps up the stairs. Among the equipment for movement areas in schoolyards, there are equipment mostly found in traditional playgrounds such as slides, swings, seesaws and spring toys.
