- Abstract
Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome is a rare disorder of unknown etiology characterized by a group of symptoms that most commonly include orofacial edema, facial nerve palsy, and tongue wrinkling. At least two of the above symptoms are necessary for a clinical diagnosis. Corticosteroids are the mainstay of treatment. The following report describes the clinical case of a 51-year-old woman with chronic swelling of the lower lip and the treatment options for Melkersson-Rosenthal syndrome.
