- Abstract
The author describes her experience as a new immigrant to Israel and her effort to start learning Hebrew in 1978. She talks about her work that centers on translating the poems of Yona Wallach and Rivka Miriam. In addition, she discusses how translating these women poets has influenced her own practice and creativity as a poet. A sampling of poems by Wallach and Miriam are presented together with the author's translations and her account of the challenges she faced in translating the poems.
