The article discusses a negative review by critic Richard H. Collin of the Maison de Mashburn restaurant in Hammond, Louisiana and a lawsuit on the grounds of defamation brought by restaurant owner Donald James Mashburn against Collin. Emphasis is given to topics such as the legal strategy of attorney Garic Barranger, limits on the right of free speech for critics, and the impact of the case on constitutional law following judgement by the Supreme Court of Louisiana.
