- Authors
Einerson, B. D.
- Abstract
The article discusses an Austrian study by P. Reif et al which found the association of nighttime delivery with severe adverse neonatal events compared with day-time delivery. Topics include a description of the phenomenon called night & weekend effect in obstetrics, the association of the presence of a senior obstetric staff in the labor ward with higher risk, and the need for further evidence on the contribution of staffing models to the night & weekend effect.
