The introduction of «do not abandon us to temptation» instead of «lead us not into temptation» in the Our Father-formula of the new Roman Missal does not prove to be irreproachable from the textual and theological point of view. Inspired by this change, the author offers a broader reflection about the meaning of the biblical trial and the hermeneutical implications of some ambiguities in the biblical text.
