A biography of Queen Marie-Louise Coidavid, spouse of Haitian King Henry Christophe, is presented. Topics include a historical background on Haiti's journey to postcolonial sovereignty and the end of Christophe's rule after his death in 1820, the exile of Marie-Louise and her daughters in Britain where Christophe has cultivated strong relationship, a background on Marie-Louise's family and details of their life in Britain wherein they were invited by Thomas Clarkson to stay at his family home.
