- Abstract
The wheat crop is important crop. wheat is the main source for manufacture bread for the' urban and rural people alike. There are wheat gap between production and consumption, the government and, the private sector try to fill this gap by imports, which. makes a financial burden on the state treasury. To fill this gap in the long term should increase wheat production. Given the limited agricultural land and water, there is important trend towards vertical expansion through the use of modern technologies in the production of wheat, which include the improved seeds and modern machinery. The research aimed to identify the impact of the use of modern technologies on the economic and productivity efficiency indicators. The search depends on secondary data and unpublished and other primary data. The study used descriptive and quantitative methods in the analyses and presentation of data. The important sources for wheat producers during the growing season 2014/2015 differs from input to another, as well as from a technological level to another. The results showed that farmers in the first technological level get fertilizers from three sources, the farmers at the second level and the third level, the traditional get manure from their farms and neighbors only, and that the sources of pesticides may restrict to the Agricultural Society and the merchants in the village with a rate of 1.61 %, 98.39% of the total sources for pesticides for the sample as a whole. The results indicated that the average cost of agricultural services operations for the first level was 2078.53 pounds per fad., and for the second level of about 3338.4 pounds per fad., while stood at the third level of about 3728.6 pounds per fad., and this means that the use of modern technologies at different levels lead to a reduction in agricultural service costs and thus increase net return per fad. All these factors lead to improvement of the economic efficiency of wheat production indicators, and this is illustrated by the net yield in the first technological level than that of the mixed level and the traditional level by about 73.46%, . 128.7%, respectively, and the producer incentive is greater in the first technological level compared with mixed level and the traditional level. It is clear that the use of modern technologies in the field of production inputs, as well as agricultural machinery leads to increase total revenue and reduce costs and increase net yield per fad. All these factors would lead to improve. Economic performance for the production of wheat crop efficiency indicators in addition to maintaining soil fertility and provide and secure water needs.
