- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Say You're One of Them" by Uwem Akpan is presented. It covers the topics and issues discussed throughout Akpan's stories, such as human trafficking, genocide, and AIDS, stating that the book is a theologically influenced reflection on contemporary Africa and the growing impact of the Gospel. The theme of solidarity in the book is also explored throughout the article as a principle of Catholic social teaching. Akpan's career as a Jesuit priest is also covered.
