The article discusses the legality of cell phone searches in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the 2014 case Riley v. California which deals with a search incident to lawful arrest legal doctrine, and it mentions various legal issues involving the Fourth Amendment to America's Constitution, search warrant exceptions, and a probable cause doctrine. U.S. constitutional law cases and the legal aspects of warrant applications are assessed, along with privacy law concerns in the U.S.
