- Abstract
The article presents a study aimed to evaluate the genetic consequences of the demographic decline of porcine in Italy through the evaluation of mitochondrial variation in pigs. The study was conducted through the use of Casertana pigs and the sequencing and amplification of the mitochondrial control region. The results of the study show that genetic conservation of Italian porcine should be focused on the implementation of adequate mating plans.
