The article explains the need to improve health and insurance protections for professional boxers in the U.S. It suggests changes in policy that will reflect the nature of the sport and the cost of health care. Also discussed is the use of legal doctrines such as tort and workers' compensation law to provide an alternative to insurance protection for boxers.
