- Title
Harmony of Voice: Women Characters in the Plays of Zakes Mda.
- Authors
Lombardozzi, Litzi
- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of female characters within the plays of Zakes Mda. The author suggests that while the female characters in Mda's plays do not clearly experience gender-specific problems, they do produce expression regarding their social perceptions. An overview of the relationship between Mda's dramatic treatment of women and the women's liberation movement is included. A detailed analysis of the female characters in "The Nun's Romantic Story" is provided.
