- Abstract
The article discusses feminism and the feminist movement in Poland in the period following 1989, the year that saw the beginning of the collapse of the communist state in that country. A number of women's issues are discussed including the role of women in the destruction of the communist regime, the loss of abortion rights in the post-communist state and issues arising from a congress of feminists held in Poland in June 2009. Also addressed is the question of the acquisition of political power by Polish women.
