- Title
Gay Asian Masculinities and Christian Theologies.
- Authors
Cheng, Patrick S.
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the relationship between gay Asian masculinities and Christian theologies. Particular focus is given to the parallels between Jesus Christ, whom the author characterizes as a persecuted hybrid of the human and the divine, and gay Asian Christians who face homophobia and racism in the straight Asian community and the gay white community. The author suggests that their unique experiences give gay Asian men the ability to decolonize both queer and Asian American theologies.
