- Abstract
This article discusses a recent study that evaluated the prevalence and impact of gustatory dysfunction in older adults. The study found that 32% of participants experienced gustatory dysfunction, but most were unaware of its impact on daily life. The authors also found a correlation between gustatory dysfunction and impaired cognitive function. The author of the correspondence suggests further research to evaluate the relationship between gustatory and olfactory dysfunctions in specific age groups, as well as the relationship between subjective gustatory and objective olfactory functions. The author commends the study for its valuable findings and emphasizes the need for more research in this area.
