- Title
Wahrheit und Demokratie in postfaktischen Zeiten.

- Abstract
Technocratic as well as post-truth politics demolish democratic procedures. Both favor quick answers beyond the discourse, regardless if they legitimize these answers through emotions or inherent necessity. But democracy needs a democratic mindset which is constitutively relating to truth. Truth here is not understood as mere accuracy, but -- in Heideggerian terms -- as characteristic of all being. As such it is a normative factor that does not answer questions of meaning and justice, but keeps them open. With this openness, truth impels the democratic process.
