- Abstract
This study - considering the competitive environment in which the Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs in Portuguese IESp) are inserted, especially regarding the process of attracting new students through its market positioning and use of a communication addressed through their websites - is embodied in the question-problem: Will the new students in the course of Administration, of some the largest PHEIs acting in the city of São Paulo, considered and were influenced by the same sites as in the institution's choice process to enroll? Thus, the overall objective of the study is to analyze the influence of the sites of large PHEIs, UNIP, UNINOVE and Anhanguera, on the decision of students entering the Administration course when choosing the institution in the city of São Paulo. The study is qualitative, even with the data of 400 valid questionnaires in percentage; therefore, the intention is to promote understandings that go beyond the simple tabulation of data. The questionnaire had 29 questions closed. As a result, it was possible to know: the websites of PHEI influence on the choice of prospects; students consider that information concerning the marketing mix (course, monthly fees, campus location and promotional conditions) should be available on the sites; the opinion of friends is very important in the choice of the institution; information about the course, available on the site PHEI, were sufficient to remove the doubts of 69% of students beginning Administration in 2015.
