- Abstract
The article examines fatality and severity of firearm injuries in a Trauma Center in Denver, Colorado, between 2000 and 2013. Particular focus is given to how the research was conduced from the state-mandated trauma registry of the level 1 trauma center, the Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC). Additional topics include charts examining the survival rates of gunshot wounds in comparison to other injuries such as motor vehicle crashes and falls, the Injury Severity Score (ISS) and how 5.8 of all injuries at the DHMC came from gunshot wounds.
