- Abstract
The article discusses the changes in the style of Hebrew poetry in the 1920s in the Palestine and the United States with reference to several Hebrew poets including Uri Zvi Greenberg and A. Shlonsky. The author examines pre-Statehood Palestinian poetic sensibilities, poetic literary style and the characteristics of Hebrew poetry during the period, as well as the role of German expressionism on modernist Hebrew poetry.
