Vaginal glycerol monolaurate gel prevents mucosal spread of simian immunodeficiency virus in monkey model.
- Abstract
The article suggests the efficacy of vaginal glycerol monolaurate (GML) gel in preventing the spread of simian immunodeficiency virus. Results of a study conducted by a group of researchers at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota show that GML prevent the onset of AIDS in monkey model. The group anticipates that the result will be an avenue to a potential treatment option for AIDS in humans.
