- Abstract
The article discusses the biodiversity of the Yasuní National Forest in Ecuador as of January 2012, focusing on the reported discord between Ecuador's Yasuní -ITT Initiative and the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). According to the article, the Yasuní -ITT Initiative deals with Ecuador's request for compensation from the interational community for the revenue that it will lose by not drilling for heavy crude oil in Ecuador's rain forest.
