- Title
Choosing the right memory T cell for HIV.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the experimental simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) vaccine for the mucosa of vagina and rectum to prevent HIV. It notes that researchers based their vaccine on infectious replication-competent rhesus macaque cytomegalovirus after observing that the vaccines protect macaques from mucosal acquisition of SIV. Researchers conclude that expression of HIV antigens at mucosal sites can protect CD+ effector memory T (TC,M) cells from SIV acquisition.
