- Abstract
The article presents the Ninth Circuit decision regarding the case "Altera v. Clear Logic" in the U.S. Under the Semiconductor Chip Protection Act, the Ninth Circuit upheld approximately $37 million judgment and permanent induction against Clear Logic for inducting Altera's customers to breach Altera's software licensing agreement. Clear Logic was alleged to have infringed Altera's rights by copying its layout design for its registered mask works.
