- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of knowledge and space in art history as seen in the presentation of the scholar and one of the church fathers saint Eusebius Hieronymus. He simplified the bible into the Latin Vulgate, which was used all throughout the middle ages. The article mentioned several pictures by the German artist Albrecht Dürer or Johannes Grüninger and discussed the concept of an artist studio or study room such as the pontifical study rooms. Other topics mentioned were vanitas symbols as an artistic expression, book printing, and the role of the humanistic ideals of education and knowledge.
