The article focuses on the problems of racism in the U.S. schools. Topics include the U.S. Supreme Court case Brown v. Board of Education, Milliken v. Bradle, and Parents Involved in Community Schools v. Seattle School District No. 1 on segregated education; the ways that laws and policies contribute to the exclusion of African American students and other students of color from high-quality educational opportunities; and Fairfax County School Board revised the admissions protocols.
