- Abstract
The article offers information on the factors responsible for the increase in co-location of charter schools with public schools in New York City. It discusses the pro-charter provisions of the Race to the Top program, funding programs, raised by the U.S. Department of Education under the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama to increase federal funding to support co-location scenario. It suggests amendments to the charter school laws in the New York State for reforming existing laws.
