- Abstract
The article discusses the history on the use of ejection seals dating back in 1910. It was in the year that a loaded bungee cord was tested and by 1912, a cannon-fired sear was tested in France, having the same test that was done in 1910. It was then in 1941 that a Heinkel model 280 using a compressed air seat has successfully performed the first human ejection. Moreover, several tests have been developed in other countries using the same technology in German and Sweden.
