The article looks at the efforts of the Ukranian government to address the prevalence of HIV in the country. The rates of HIV infection in Ukraine declined in 2012 resulting from the investments in antiretroviral treatment. But HIV cases increased by eight percent in 2016, while AIDS related deaths increased by 7 percent. The actions taken by activists to urge more programs on HIV prevention are also cited.
