- Abstract
The article presents a study which discussed which selection method results to the highest quality judiciary. The relationship between the three primary methods of judicial selection, namely, merit plan, partisan election and nonpartisan election and the misconduct of judges after their selection to the bench is examined. A brief summary of the history of judicial selection in the U.S. is given. The problem with defining and measuring quality in the context of the judiciary is analyzed.
