- Abstract
This article offers a classroom challenge to teach students about microwave ovens. The mythical job is to take on the position of the chief curator at the Ready Hot Microwave Company Manufacturing Plant. The assignment is to take over the closed plant and convert it into a national historical landmark site dedicated to educating visitors about the history of the microwave oven and how the technology influenced society. A detailed description of the site is included. The author assigns four specific tasks: education of the public, ongoing historical research, hiring of the right people, and creating and maintaining an annual budget.
