- Abstract
This article, published in the journal Abdominal Radiology, discusses abdominal wall endometriosis (AWE), which occurs when endometrial tissue grows outside of the uterus in the abdominal wall. AWE is often associated with surgical scars, but can also appear spontaneously. The article describes the characteristic Gorgon sign of AWE, which is a linear infiltration radiating from a central soft-tissue nodule on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) images. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can help determine the depth of infiltration and the location of the nodule. The article also mentions the differential diagnosis of AWE and states that no funding was received for the study.
