- Abstract
This article discusses the recent advancements in the applications of polysaccharides and polysaccharide-based materials. Polysaccharides are complex carbohydrates that have diverse applications in various industries, including food, pharmaceuticals, materials science, and biotechnology. They play important roles in genetic materials, energy sources, cellular processes, and bacterial adhesives. Polysaccharides are used in drug delivery, tissue engineering, wound healing, and as gelling agents in food products. They also offer sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based plastics, contribute to environmental remediation efforts, and have potential applications in biofuels, energy conversion, and storage. The article emphasizes the need for continued research and development to fully unlock the potential of polysaccharides and accelerate their adoption in different industries.
