- Abstract
The article offers information on poet and critic Ezra Pound, his involvement with the Japanese N‾ theatre, and his translation and adaptation of a Japanese N‾ play by playwright Zeami Motokiyo. It discusses reasons behind creating two texts, "Nishikigi," a translation, and "Tristan," an adaptation, of the same play by Pound by analyzing his essays written to accompany "Nishikigi" and "Tristan," and the differences between the two versions.
