Abstract
The article states that demolition of an unfinished monument to the 19th century Lewis and Clark expedition in The Dalles, Oregon, began on January 16, 2014. According to the article, the monument was located in the Columbia River Gorge and was originally a project of the U.S. government agency the Works Progress Administration, but abandoned at the beginning of World War II.
