The article discusses a theorem developed by American Presbyterian minister and mathematician Thomas Bayes to calculate condition probabilities. Topics include what the Bayes' formula is and how it can be used, such as in disease diagnosis, the use of Bayes' theorem in court cases, such as the 1999 sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) case in England involving Sally Clark, and why the Bayes' theorem works.
